Technical analysis of the cladding: Identical standard for roof and walls
Unlike common practice where manufacturers pair a durable roof with thinner side walls (often made of polyethylene), this tent uses a uniform material across the entire cladding surface. Roof tarpaulins, gable walls and side segments are all made from the same PVC with a weight of 500 g/m². This ensures equal lifespan, UV stability and mechanical resistance of all tent parts.
Structure of the PVC 500 g/m² material
The cladding is made from a three-layer composite that is technically and functionally similar to tarpaulins used in freight transport (truck covers).
- Inner load-bearing layer: The core consists of a dense grid fabric (polyester mesh). This reinforcement is key for tensile strength and prevents any mechanical damage (puncture) from propagating further.
- Outer layers: The mesh is coated on both sides with a layer of liquid PVC. The result is a homogeneous, waterproof material that is not merely impregnated but water-repellent through its entire thickness.
- Surface finish: The final layer is smooth and glossy, providing a self-cleaning function – dust and dirt do not adhere as to rough textiles and are naturally washed away by rain.
Join technology: High-frequency welding
The critical point of every tent is the seams of the individual tarpaulin pieces. Here the risk of leaking through needle holes is eliminated.
- Weld and stitching: Individual PVC strips are joined using high-frequency welding at high temperatures and are stitched at strategic points.
- Homogeneous joint: The material melts at the joint and fuses at the molecular level. The seam is therefore physically stronger and more durable than the tarpaulin itself and guarantees 100% watertightness.
Thermal management and UV resistance
The material used actively contributes to regulating conditions inside the tent, which is critical for all-day events such as weddings.
- UV protection 80+: The PVC does not degrade (does not become brittle or yellow) under solar radiation and at the same time protects guests from UV rays as effectively as a masonry structure.
- Temperature range: The tarpaulins are stabilized for a temperature range from -20 °C to +50 °C. In winter the material does not harden to the point of cracking when folded, and in summer at high temperatures it does not soften to the point of deformation (it does not stretch).
- Light transmission: The white color of the tarpaulin reflects most thermal radiation, reducing the temperature inside the tent, while still allowing sufficient diffuse daylight (artificial lighting is not required during the day).
Anchoring and window inserts
- Window material: Transparent window sections are made from multilayer clear PVC, which is sewn to the base tarpaulin. Waterproofing is, of course, maintained around the windows as well.
- Grommets and fasteners: Stainless steel grommets are installed at the roof corners. Attachment to the frame is solved with elastic rubber loops that absorb wind shocks and protect both the tarpaulin and the grommets from being torn out.
Steel frame: Hybrid joint system for maximum stability
The construction of this tent is designed with an emphasis on structural safety while maintaining mobility. The foundation is a hybrid assembly system that combines the speed of spring-loaded snap-in (click system) for common joints and the strength of bolted connections in critical, statically stressed nodes.
Material specification of profiles
The load-bearing framework is made of structural steel that undergoes a double surface treatment process. This procedure ensures not only an aesthetic appearance for wedding purposes but, above all, long-term functionality.
- Profiles (Pipes): Steel tubes with a diameter of 38 mm are used.
- Connectors (Couplings): The connecting nodes are reinforced to a diameter of 42 mm, which ensures a firm seating of the tubes without unwanted play.
- Surface finish: A white powder coating (komaxit) is applied to the steel, creating a hermetic layer resistant to abrasion and chemical effects.
Analysis of the hybrid joint system
The engineering design of the frame distinguishes between joints intended for rapid assembly of the shape and nodes that transmit dynamic loads (wind, sail tension).
1. Snap-in system (Click system) in the connectors
The majority of joints (especially vertical posts and horizontal beams) use spring buttons.
- Principle: A steel spring with a button is integrated inside the tube. When inserted into the connector, the button engages in a pre-drilled hole.
- Advantage: Eliminates the need for tools when erecting the basic structure and significantly speeds up assembly. The connection is secure against pull-out forces.
2. Bolted connections in exposed areas
In locations with the highest mechanical stress, where torsional moments or shear forces occur, the snap-in system is replaced or supplemented by through bolts with nuts.
- Placement: This type of connection is found at key load-bearing points, corner braces, and roof reinforcements.
- Function: A through bolt (passing through the full diameter of the tube) mechanically locks the joint. Unlike the spring, a solid steel bolt withstands significantly higher forces and prevents joint deformation during wind impacts.
- Safety: The use of nuts ensures that the connection does not loosen even under long-term vibrations caused by the movement of the sail.
Anchoring plates and stability
Load transfer to the ground is ensured by steel base plates that are an integral part of the posts.
- Plate construction: Each tent leg ends with an enlarged steel base plate with holes for anchoring elements.
- Anchoring: The plates allow fixation using pegs (into grass/soil) or mechanical anchors (into concrete/paving), preventing uplift or displacement of the entire structure. Both anchoring elements are included in the price.
Assembly and operational limits of the structure
The tent uses a rigid tubular system (piece-by-piece connections), it is not a scissor-style quick-erect model. This type of frame provides the higher stability required for a 6x12 m size, but requires assembly of individual segments.
Time requirements and procedure
- Estimated time: Assembling the structure takes approximately 40 to 60 minutes (depending on experience and anchoring).
- Number of people: For safe handling of 6-metre modules and lifting the roof, at least 2 people are required.
- Preparation: Before starting, it is recommended to sort poles and connectors according to the diagram in the manual.
Statics and weather conditions
The structure is classified as mobile, short-term shelter. It is not statically designed as a permanent building and has its load limits.
- Snow: The roof structure is not rated for snow loads. In snowfall, the cover must be mechanically cleared immediately or the tent dismantled, otherwise deformation of the load-bearing tubes may occur.
- Wind: The tent is not resistant to gales and strong gusty winds. When warnings of strong winds are issued, the covers must be removed or the tent completely taken down.
- Rain: To prevent overloading with water, properly tighten the roof using the rubber fasteners. This prevents the formation of water pockets.
Safety rules and supervision
- Supervision: The tent must not be left erected unattended (for example during the night or during long absences), due to the risk of sudden weather changes.
- Heat and fire: Maintain a safe distance of the covers from direct heat sources, open flames, and gas heaters.
- Infrastructure: Do not erect in the immediate vicinity of power lines.
Consumer warranty terms and liability
The warranty covers manufacturing defects and corrosion of the steel frame (5 years). The warranty does not cover mechanical damage caused by natural disasters (wind, snow, hail) or damage resulting from failure to follow operating instructions (for example leaving the tent unattended in bad weather).
